Title Research Workshop
Description The two-semester course "Forschungsatelier" (10 ECTS for both semesters) should be attended in the first year of the master’s degree in cognitive psychology (credits will be granted after the second semester). The course begins in the fall semester and ends in the spring semester. It is not possible to start in the spring semester.

In this course an empirical research project is being conducted. The members of the Department of Cognitive Psychology, Perception and Research Methods suggest topics from current departmental research for selection. It is also possible to suggest your own topic. The work is closely supervised by a member of the department across all stages. Some of the studies are carried out in cooperation with our collaboration partners in Bern, Switzerland or abroad, and we also support student stays in other laboratories in this context. The results obtained should be documented in the form of a concise report towards the end of the 2nd semester. If there are interesting results of sufficient quality, the students are supported in preparing the work in manuscript form so that it can be submitted to a scientific journal and / or presented at a national or international congress. The "Forschungsatelier" is accompanied by workshops in which the necessary skills can be developed (e.g. publication workshop, scientific writing, special data analysis techniques) and serves to prepare the subsequent master’s thesis.
