Title Feeding and Eating Disorders
Description The seminar offers an introduction to the diagnosis and psychotherapy of feeding and eating disorders. The topics comprise diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis, comorbidity, aetiology, motive-oriented adjustment of therapeutic relationships, pharmacological treatment, psychotherapy, and empirical evidence for treatment effectiveness. The seminar will cover and compare three psychotherapeutic interventions for feeding and eating disorders: Cognitive-behavioural therapy, Emotion-focussed Therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

Admission is open for students enrolled in the Master’s degree program in Psychology. The emphasis will be on practical aspects, preparing attendees for their first therapy of feeding and eating disorders. Prior participation in the seminar “Eating disorders” within the Bachelor’s program Psychology would be helpful, but is not a necessary requirement for admission to this seminar.

The seminar will comprise 24 lectures of 45 minutes duration each, and will take place as follows:
Friday, May 11th, 9:15 AM - 4:45 PM: Theory Block 1 and exercises (8 lectures)
Saturday, May 12th, 9:15 AM - 1:15 PM: Repetition of Theory Block 1 and Exercises (5 lectures)
Saturday, May 19th, 9:15 AM - 10:00 AM: Written exam 1 (1 lecture)
Friday, June 8th, 9:15 AM - 4:45 PM: Theory Block 2 and exercises (8 lectures)
Saturday, June 9th, 9:15 AM - 1:15 PM: Repetition of Theory Block 2 and Exercises (5 lectures)
Saturday, June 16th, 9:15 AM - 10:00 AM: Written exam 2 (1 lecture)

Participants will acquire 4 ECTS credits if they attend all lectures and pass two written exams. Each written exam will have a duration of 45 minutes and will contain 25 multiple-choice questions. Attendees must pass both exams. The average performance in both exams will determine the overall performance in the seminar.
