Title |
"Dealing with feelings" - the relevance of emotion regulation for mental health disorders and their treatment |
Description |
Emotion regulation has been identified as a possible transdiagnostic factor relevant to the development, maintenance and treatment of mental disorders (Berking & Wuppermann, 2012). This proseminar aims to offer an introduction to the field of emotion regulation from a clinical psychology perspective. After an introdcution to the research area, different mental disorders will be viewed from an emotion regulation perspective. A further focus of the seminar lies on emotion regulation as an aspect of psychotherapy e.g. as an aspect of treamtent of mental disorders. The proseminar focuses on research in the area of emotion regulation, but also aims to make links to clinical practice. |
