Title Treating Protagonists in Film: Introduction to Case Conceptualization
Description This seminar aims to provide first insights into the method of case conceptualization for psychotherapy. During the seminar, different films that portray mental illness will be viewed and how psychopathology is portrayed in these films will be critically discussed. Knowledge from the DSM-5 and ICD-10 will be integrated. Furthermore, different elements that are a part of integrative case conceptualization (based on Consistency Theory by Klaus Grawe and Bernese principles) will be discussed and applied. Students taking part in this seminar should enjoy watching film material and have an interest in psychopathology and psychotherapy.
