Workshop Academic Writing and Searching Information Sources, for Humanities' Students |
Description |
Have you already written your first term paper or do you have to hand one in this semester? In this interdisciplinary course you will learn helpful information for the entire process of scientific writing in the humanities: from narrowing down the topic to the right search terms and tools to structuring and formulating your thoughts. You will recognize your style of writing and learn how to keep track of your collected literature. We will practice working with a literature management program so that you avoid citation errors and bibliographize correctly.
Main focus:
- Research: catalogs and databases, documenting results.
- Efficiently collect, cite and bibliographize literature (reference management software)
- Finding your way into the text (topic, question, type of writing)
- Structuring thoughts and ideas (tools, excerpts, marking texts)
- Citing instead of plagiarizing
- Formulating and structuring texts
- Finishing writing: Rework |
