Title Alcohol use disorders: Selected and innovative therapeutic aspects
Description Alcohol use disorders (AUD) are among the most common mental disorders. Their impact on the quality of life of patients and their families is immense. Despite specialized therapeutic programs, relapse rates are high. Therefore, innovative ways to enhance therapeutic outcomes are still being investigated.
After a brief introduction to classification and aetiology of AUD and a rough overview of specialized therapeutic approaches, this course zooms in on selectes and innovative aspects of AUD therapy.
A first focus is on motivational interviewing. After learning relevant concepts of motivational interviewing, we will deepen the knowledge through reflection of possible client-therapist-interactions.
