Big Data, AI, and Society |
Description |
Lectured by Ani Baghumyan
This course will introduce students to basic concepts from the field of big data, artificial intelligence, and the so called “algorithmic culture.” We will explore how big data revolution has impacted our media and communication technologies, social science research, and policy making among other things. Students will also be introduced to critical theories that examine the potential positive and negative effects of these developments. Issues of ethics and privacy will also be discussed.
