Title |
Morality, Values and Political Attitudes and Behavior |
Description |
Lecturer: Victoria Haerter
At the core of this course lies the question of how values and morality can explain attitude formation and individual behavior in the political arena.
This seminar will analyze and discuss the most important political psychology theories regarding values (e.g. Inglehart, Schwartz’s Theory of Basic Human Values) and morality (e.g. Moral Foundation Theory) and their implication for political science. The course further engages with methodological issues and questions, such as survey experiments and questions of measuring psychological traits. This will give the students an understanding and the ability to connect psychological theories and real-world applications.
