Title Social Psychopharmacology
Description The social interaction with drugs is a wide-ranging phenomenon that includes various substances such as alcohol, cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, heroin and marijuana. These chemicals affect the brain and alter the behaviour of individuals. Psychopharmacology is a scientific field that deals with the study of the effects of drugs on behaviour and integrates various disciplines of psychology.
A special subfield of this discipline is social psychopharmacology, which deals with the effects of psychoactive substances on social interactions and behaviour. It investigates how the use of drugs that affect the central nervous system influences people's behaviour and interactions. The focus of the research is on social factors such as empathy, aggression, cooperation and trust.

The seminar provides a comprehensive overview of different classes of drugs, their mechanisms of action, areas of application and effects on the nervous system. In addition, the historical development of psychopharmacology will be considered and current topics relating to drugs, addiction and human behaviour will be covered.
The seminar deepens the theoretical foundations, methodological challenges and practical applications of social psychopharmacology. Both individual and social aspects are taken into account.

The seminar is designed to be interactive and requires active participation from students. Students will be involved in group work, discussions and presentations.
