Title |
Specialist Course: Effective Field Theory |
Description |
The lecture will give an introduction to effective field theories, starting from the Wilsonian effective action and renormalization group.
We will then discuss the general concept of effective field theories (matching, field redefinitions, power counting), before turning to applications,
including the Standard Model at low energies.
The course assumes basic knowledge of quantum field theory. It is complementary to the courses "Quantum Field Theory II" and "Standard Model" and can be attended in parallel. If you plan to take this course, please register with ILIAS, which will be used to disseminate further information. |
