Title Suicidal ideation and behaviour: Models, assessment, management, and treatment
Description When working with patients with suicidal ideation and behaviour, the long-term and current suicide risk must be assessed in a clinical setting. If necessary, further measures to protect patients must be taken. Patients with a suicide attempt in their history have an increased risk of a further suicide (attempt). This makes treatment and management of this high-risk group even more important.
In this seminar, the most important models of suicidality will be discussed, and the assessment, documentation and management of suicide risk will be described. The seminar will focus on therapeutic interventions and will aim to teach the participants how to deal with suicidal patients. Within this framework, there will also be room for some focus topics (e.g. media influence, special groups).
