Everything good is bad for you: Media use and media effects |
Description |
In this course, students are introduced to current research trends in media psychology, particularly with regards to media effects in the context of psychological (learning) theories. The course covers underlying theoretical concepts and current empirical results. Both positive/desirable as well as negative/undesirable media effects are discussed. The students engage critically with methods of media effects research and quality of evidence in the context of the scientific and public discourse on media use and effects. |
