Selection criterion: students of the Master's Program Biomedical Engineering are given preference. PhD students, students from other study programs or guest students are admitted to this course if free places are available.

Prerequisites:
The prerequisite of the course are general physics, general chemistry, and mathematics.

• The course will follow the book "Biomaterials Science - An Introduction to Materials in Medicine", edited by WR. Wagner, G. Zhang, SE. Sakiyama-Elbert, MJ. Yaszemski. (Fourth Edition, 2020) ISBN 978-0-12-816137-1; https://doi.org/10.1016/C2017-0-02323-6; E-book approx. 120 Euro.
• And “Fundamentals of Materials Science and Engineering”, William D. Callister, David G. Rethwisch, Wiley ISBN: 978-1-118-32269-7. E-book approx. 60 EURO (or later version).
