Title |
Programming with MATLAB: Advanced course |
Description |
The course is particularly suitable for master students of psychology. In the course there will be plenty of opportunity to strengthen one's knowledge of the MATLAB programming lanugage, a programming language well suited for mathematical modelling and statistical analyses as they occur in psychology.
MATLAB is one of the standard programming languages and knowledge of it is thus an asset for any student. The course will start with a quick reminder of the basics of MATLAB and then proceed to introduce complex data structures (e.g. "structs" and "cell-arrays") and how to use MATLAB to programme modern statistical methods like, e.g. "the bootstrap" or "cross-validation".
Important information:
Please bring your own laptop to the course; ensure that you have a running version of MATLAB installed on your laptop before the first session. Ideally your version of MATLAB should be comparatively recent, i.e. not older than 2 years. |
