Title |
Inorganic Chemistry IV |
Description |
The AC IV course further builds on the material from AC I and AC II. The primary goal of the course is to describe the consequences of bringing multiple metal centers in proximity to each other. In a first part, we will explain the emerging electronic structures of cluster compounds and follow with their ensuing reactivity patterns. Additionally, cluster reactivity in heterogeneous systems and within enzymatic pockets will be outlined. Their roles in sustainable chemical syntheses will be discussed.
In the second part, we will introduce extended 1D, 2D, and 3D materials, focusing on their formed electronic band structures. Control over the physical characteristics with chemical doping and fundamental design principles of photovoltaic and optoelectronic devices will be discussed. |
