Title |
Introduction to Slavic Philology (Seminar) |
Description |
These courses form the linguistic part of the introductory module. They provide an overview of Slavic linguistics’ issues, theories, and methods. For this purpose, we will look at linguistics and language from two perspectives: from the perspective of neighboring disciplines and their relationship to language and linguistics, e.g., How do people come to language (evolutionary linguistics and language acquisition), how do they process it (psycholinguistics) or how does the intertwining of society and language use look like (sociolinguistics). The second perspective addresses questions of the linguistic system, i.e., the analysis of structures of Slavic languages on the different linguistic levels (e.g., phonetics, morpho-syntax, lexis). |
