Title |
The dark side of personality |
Description |
The seminar provides insights into various constructs of human personality, especially the "dark sides" that are often perceived negatively by society. The seminar focuses in particular on the subclinical manifestations of various personality traits. The dark triad/tetrad (narcissism, Machiavellianism, subclinical psychopathy and sadism) will be the focus of the seminar. On the one hand, neuroscientific, cognitive and social explanations for interindividual differences in these traits will be elaborated and measurement instruments will be examined. On the other hand, everyday correlates will be discussed that illustrate why knowledge about personality traits can lead to a better understanding of human behavior. |
