Title |
Tutorial in Personality Psychology |
Description |
Content:
The Tutorial expands on the contents of the lecture course „Personality psychology” – from biological and trait approaches, to social-cognitive, motivational and emotional approaches. Concrete topics include, among others, attachment, self and identity, motivation, emotion- and self-regulation, as well as development and change of personality. Based on current, primarily empirical literature, an advanced understanding of various approaches in personality will be acquired and critically evaluated. The course format is a form of Journal Club, in which empirical findings, methodological insights, as well as broader views on the respective approaches will be critically discussed. This serves, on the one hand, to increase the understanding of the lectures’ contents, by involving concrete research examples of the respective approaches, and on the other hand to encourage a critical analysis of the psychological methods and findings, as well as the generation of further research ideas.
Requirements:
Regular and active participation, independent preparation of the literature. Students are responsible for the moderations of the sessions; these will be graded.
For students with main module “PDD” (30 ECTS), attending the tutorial is mandatory. Everyone else can attend the lecture without the tutorial, though, everyone is welcomed to participate. |
