Stress and Disease Management |
Description |
The aim of this lecture is to introduce theories and concepts of stress and disease management. In a first part, important stress theories and their empirical findings are discussed, and approaches for stress management identified and illustrated with concrete examples. In a second part, relevant concepts and theories of disease management are discussed. Based on the current empirical findings, implications for research and practice are discussed. Selected diseases and their risk factors as well as specific approaches to coping are introduced. The students can actively deepen the content of the lecture with exercises. The exercises are a mandatory part of the assessment and a condition for the admission to the written exam. The literature will be announced in the first session of the course. |
