Title |
Emotions in Health Psychology |
Description |
Emotions can have positive effects (e.g. providing resources) but also negative effects (e.g. inhibiting necessary health-promoting actions) in health psychology. In this seminar, we will look at the characteristics and determinants of emotions (as well as emotion regulation) that influence health and health behavior. We also discuss the importance of emotions in communicating health-related content (so-called health messages). Finally, the applicability of different concepts and methods of positive psychology to health psychology will be discussed. |
