Title |
Methods seminar diary studies and the science of good and bad days at work (supplementary seminar) |
Description |
Days are fundamental building blocks of the human experience of time. Work is usually organized in working days and shifts, and good and bad days can have a long-term impact on the well-being, satisfaction and productivity of working people. This seminar has two objectives: The first is to gain an understanding of the methodology of diary studies used in research to investigate daily experience. The second aim is to gain a sound understanding of which factors make a working day a good day and which make it a bad day.
In the seminar, students apply the methodological, statistical, and content knowledge they have acquired directly by planning and conducting a diary study on the topics of occupational experiences and well-being, analysing the data collected using appropriate methods, and writing up the results in a short research report. In addition to the theoretical and practical skills acquired, this also enables students to gain an insight into the entire process of a research project in the field of applied psychological research.
Parts of the seminar will be held in English. Students can choose to write their research report in German. |
