Title |
Food systems governance, pesticides and GMOs |
Description |
The course will begin by introducing students to foundational concepts of food security, sustainable food systems, and food systems governance (8 hours). Using real-life examples, students will gain an understanding of key food security concepts, their underlying policy paradigms and assumptions, and various regimes and coordination mechanisms in the field of food systems governance. Following this, the course will explore two highly complex, multi-level, decentralized, and polycentric food-related regulatory regimes - pesticides (8 hours) and GMOs (8 hours). In these areas, students will familiarize themselves with key notions and procedures, while drawing critical insights into the workings of the law. |
