This seminar addresses economic-anthropological questions on the topic of growth: How can growth be understood in an economic-anthropological context? How is growth perceived in different social and cultural contexts? What alternatives exist to economic growth that is predominantly measured by numerical indicators? How do power structures and hierarchies shape concepts of growth? What role do social relationships play? What methodological toolkit does social anthropology provide to investigate perspectives on growth? What can social anthropology contribute to the degrowth debate? |
