Description |
This seminar focuses on developmental disorders and their diagnostic assessment. Approximately one in seven children and adolescents is affected by a developmental or mental health disorder, often resulting in significant challenges for the individual, their academic success, and their families. The seminar provides insight into several developmental disorders (e.g., language development disorder, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD). Each session will cover theoretical foundations, introduce and practice diagnostic methods, and explore current research findings.
Prerequisites: 1) reading of relevant (German and English) literature, 2) planning and leading a session, 3) active and consistent participation (maximum two absences), 4) passing the final exam.
Basic literature: Jenni, O. (2024). Entwicklungsstörungen verstehen. Springer Berlin.
Further literature will be announced in the introductory session.
Registration: Registration is through KSL, is binding, and cannot be canceled or changed.
Study focus: The work done in the seminar will be recognized for a Master's module in Developmental Psychology, Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology as well as an elective. |
