Title |
Proseminar in Managerial Accounting |
Description |
The seminar will provide students with important quantitative research method skills, preparing participants for their final theses (bachelor's thesis and potentially master's thesis in the future).
The seminar has two main goals. First, participants will gain an in-depth insight into managerial decision-making and controls, particularly related to internal reporting and risk. Specifically, the seminar addresses (1) how internal reporting systems work, (2) what biases may shape how risk-relevant information is collected, shared, and interpreted, and (3) what (mis)incentives reporting might create. Second, participants will learn through a concrete example how to design, conduct, and evaluate an experiment or survey that investigates a specific research question. |
