Analysing debates on Artificial Intelligence |

This course is a hands-on methods training class that will teach three method groups (computational, content, and discourse analyses) using various text datasets related to artificial intelligence (say, newspaper reports, policy documents, etc.) across cases. The class will further discuss AI’s historical developments and future trajectories and introduce various theoretical frameworks to situate the on-going research in AI. This class is best suited for students interested in political or media research.
Prerequisites:
Completed mandatory social science courses from the introductory program.
Any experience with writing computer code is highly advantageous but not necessary.
