Title |
The third wave of cognitive behavioral therapy |
Description |
Content: Third wave therapies add concepts such as mindfulness and acceptance to cognitive behavioral therapy approaches. In this seminar, we get a general idea of the third wave approaches (e.g., acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), dialectic-behavioral therapy (DBT)). Further, we explore the empirical support for these therapy approaches. Are they evidence-based? Is there evidence for lasting therapeutic effects? Are they superior to well-established therapeutic approaches? Is there evidence for an advantage for specific patient populations?
Requirements: This seminar takes place at three full days and one introductory evening (see dates below). Maximum absence: ½ day. Each participant prepares and presents a presentation, and prepares and participates in group discussions, group exercises and short psychotherapeutic exercises during the course. |
