Sexual Health and Counseling |
Description |
Sexuality is an important part of health. It is important for individual well-being as well as for a satisfying partnership. In the seminar, an overview of the subject area will be given. Sexual health and sexual rights will be defined, historical approaches to sexuality and current perspectives are considered. Based on an interactionistic understanding of sexual health, physiological foundations as well as psychological and partnership aspects of sexuality are addressed. Common approaches to sexual counseling and therapy for women, men and couples are introduced.
Small groups of students lead the seminar sessions and prepare a presentation, discussions, group work and practical exercises. The concrete contents are therefore based on the interests of the students. The presentation of the seminar session will be graded with an essay as proof of achievement. |
