Title |
In your face: Psychobiological underpinnings of attractiveness perception |
Description |
The human face contains complex information which is ususally processed automatically. But what do we know about this most remarkable feature of the human body? Why do we have faces at all and brains that are good at reading them? We normally recognize familiar faces within milliseconds and we often find it easy to infer the emotional state, attractiveness and trustworthyness of our counterpart. Perhaps the most compelling question is: Why are we attracted to some faces more than to others? In this Proseminar we discuss various aspects of the research on facial attractiveness.
