Course type: lecture / tutorials
Module: Basic Module "Applied Mathematics" (mandatory)
Required Material or Equipment:
• Laptop with Matlab or Octave installed for the homework assignments
Selection criterion: students of the Master's Program Biomedical Engineering are given preference. PhD students, students from other study programs or guest students are admitted to this course if free places are available.

Prerequisites:
• Have a good working knowledge of calculus in one and two variables
• Know basic facts about linear differential equations
• Basic linear algebra, including eigenvalues and eigenvectors of symmetric matrices
Recommended Skills: basic programming skills in Octave or Matlab

• Course materials are regularly posted on Ilias (www.ilias.unibe.ch).

• No additional textbook required, recommendations are given in class.
