Title Hormones and the human social behavior
Description Do we become more selfish when we are under stress?
Are we showing less empathy after a sleepless night?
Our social behavior is influenced by our momentary state which includes the hormones’ level.
In this seminar, we use current research to study the role of hormones on socially relevant behaviors, like trust, altruism, aggression, ingroup love, outgroup hate, among other things.
Requirements for the acquisition of 5 ECTS points are:
- Regular and active participation in the seminar
- Design of a seminar session as an expert. This includes giving a short presentation on a research question, preparing and leading the subsequent discussion.
- Passing the final exam
Literature: A detailed overview of the seminar program including literature will be announced in the first session and posted on the Internet (Ilias).
