Description |
This lecture offers an introduction to the theoretical background and application of neuroscientific research methods. Admission is open for students enrolled in the Bachelor Minor Program Neuroscience.
Based on the textbook “Research Methods for Cognitive Neuroscience” by Aaron Newman, available in the University bookshop vonRoll, the following topics will be presented: Electroencephalography (EEG), Magnetoencephalography (MEG), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Functional MRI (fMRI), Genetic and Pharmacological Imaging, Structural MRI, Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), Near-Infrared Optical Imaging (fNIRI), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Transcranial Electrical Stimulation (tES), Machine Learning in Neuroscience.
Participants can acquire 3 ECTS by passing a written exam.
The lecture will take place in "hybrid" mode: all lecture dates will take place in person and, in addition, will be recorded as a podcast. |
