Description |
Neuropsychology investigates the connections between our brain and our behavior and experience. Clinical neuropsychology describes an essential part of this, in which the consequences of brain damage of various brain structures and etiologies (strokes, tumors, craniocerebral trauma) on cognitive, emotional and motivational functions are recorded.
In this introductory course the basics and methods of clinical neuropsychology will be presented and the most important neuropsychological disorders (e.g. visual perception disorders, neglect, attention disorders, aphasias, executive function disorders, emotional disorders, amnesias, developmental disorders, dementia) with a clinical perspective (phenomenology, diagnostic and therapeutic approaches) will be introduced.
