Specialist Course: Exoplanets and Origins of Life |
Description |
This specialist course will combine biology, chemistry, geology and astrophysics to provide an overview of the multi-disciplinary field of the origins and evolution of life on the Earth. In a second part, the course will detail the nature of planets orbiting other stars than our sun (exoplanets) and describe current techniques to detect and characterise their atmospheres. In a third part, the course will investigate current efforts developed (in Bern and elsewhere) to search for signs of life in and beyond our Solar System.
