Description |
In recent decades, contemporary careers have undergone a remarkable transformation due to rapid advancements of technology and globalization. With the automation of many occupational tasks the landscape of the job market has changed drastically, leading to a significant shift in occupational profiles. This trend is set to continue and is expected to have far reaching impacts on the employment landscape. In addition to these accelerating changes, contemporary careers have become more dynamic and require proactive career development and career self-management. To stay current with these changes, individuals must be adaptable, flexible, and willing to embrace a variety of challenges. This proseminar aims to investigate the main question of why promoting continuous career development is necessary in an increasing digitized world. By emphasizing career development models, participants will gain an understand of the dynamic and evolving nature of contemporary careers, that present both challenges and opportunities for individuals.
Topics covered include:
• Central theories and models of career development
• Work in the industry 4.0
• Accelerating changes and its implications for career development
• Career adaptability
• Myths and facts about older workers
The proseminar will involve various activities that include input lectures, group presentations and independent exercises. |
