Introduction to the field, laboratory, numerical techniques, interpretation and discussion in paleoecology and palynology. The course centers around pollen, spore and chironomid analysis (including microscopy), other paleoecological and paleoclimatological approaches are briefly introduced. Students will analyze sedimentary samples, gain data and quantitatively evaluate their results to produce, interpret and discuss new environmental time series.
Prerequisite: Palaeoecology and Palaeoclimatology of the Alps and their forelands (10459). |
