Development of Self-Esteem |
Description |
The course gives an overview of theories, concepts, and findings on the development of self-esteem. The course covers topics such as developmental trajectories of self-esteem in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood; influences on self-esteem (e.g., family environment, social relationships, experiences in the work domain, life events); interventions aimed at improving self-esteem.
Requirements: (1) Readings (homework). (2) Giving a presentation. (3) Regular and active attendance (max. 2 meetings may be missed). The meeting with the own presentation may not be missed. (4) Passing a final written exam (graded, Calendar Week 4).
Readings: Information on readings will be provided at the beginning of the course.
Course specialization: The lecture course can be credited for a module in developmental psychology (45, 30, or 15 ECTS) or as a facultative course. |
