Semester HS2024
Type of course Lecture
Allocation to subject Psychology
Type of exam not defined
Title Personality Psychology
Description Starts in the 2nd week of the semester!

Content:
This lecture course provides an overview of the most important theories, measurement procedures, and empirical results in personality psychology. First, the background of each approach is presented and explained, which is followed by a critical reflection of the approach. Similarities and differences between the approaches are highlighted throughout. The focus is on personality psychology as an empirical science. Hence, theoretical perspectives are evaluated in light of newer research results.
The study of personality will be examined at multiple levels of analysis: dispositional, biological, motivational, learning, humanistic and social-cognitive. These different approaches will be compared and contrasted and ultimately integrated to provide an understanding of the person as a whole.

Regular attendance of lectures and preparing and post-processing of learning-materials (incl. textbook chapters); a passing grade on the final exam.
