Title |
Psychological Assessment II |
Description |
This course introduces students applied psychological assessment, using two instructional formats: Lectures and exercise/ practice sessions.
The lecture gives an overview of different assessment approaches and methods in various applied fields including developmental, forensic, and work and organizational psychology. Guest speakers will give a practical insight into applied psychological assessment in these fields.
In the practical part, students will be introduced to the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V) and will learn to administer and analyze this classic test battery using an online tutorial and practice sessions in smaller groups.
In pairs, students will then administer the WISC-V to a child, videotape the testing session, analyze the results, and write a brief report. Prior to the testing session, students have to pass an online test on the WISC-V. Students will receive feedback on their testing session and have to pass it in order to sign up for the final written multiple choice exam for the course. The final exam encompasses the content discussed in the lecture and additional literature. |
