Course type: short lectures and computer labs
Selection criterion: students of the Master's Program Biomedical Engineering are given preference. PhD students, students from other study programs or guest students are admitted to this course if free places are available.

Attendance rules
• Attendance at the intermediate exam mandatory.
• It is highly recommended that all registered students attend the course in the lecture room. No grouping
• Comprehensive material incl. Tutorials available in Ilias. No streaming or podcasting.
Prerequisites:
- Basic computer skills, fundamental linear algebra
Required material or equipment: Laptop with MATLAB (R2020b or later) installed. BME students can download a free Matlab license. Other students can buy a student version on www.mathworks.com.
Distribution of course materials: Course materials are regularly posted on Ilias (www.ilias.unibe.ch).
Course policies and classroom rules of conduct:
• Academic dishonesty, plagiarism, and any other kind of fraud will lead to the exclusion from the course and/or a fail grade (grade 1) in the assessment.
• Punctuality
• No radios, audio/cd player, earphones
