Selection criterion: students of the Master's Program Biomedical Engineering are given preference. PhD students, students from other study programs or guest students are admitted to this course if free places are available.

• Attendance is highly recommended.

Exercises:
• Solving the exercises is highly recommended because they prepare for the problems set in the exam.
• Sample solutions for auto-correction are provided.
• The exercises do not contribute to the final grade.

Course materials are regularly posted on Ilias (www.ilias.unibe.ch).

Prerequisites:
• Skill(s): Elementary knowledge of Matlab

• Skill(s): Vector algebra and analysis, calculus

Required Material or Equipment:
• Laptop with Matlab installed, no specific toolboxes. BME students can download a free Matlab license. Other students can buy a student version on www.mathworks.com.

• C.R. Ethier and C.A. Simmons. Introductory Biomechanics: From Cells to Organisms. Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 2008.
