Title |
From questionnaires to everyday life: What personality constructs predict |
Description |
In this course, different personality constructs including self-esteem, honesty, empathy, the Big Five, and motives will be discussed. We will briefly address the theoretical foundations and will then focus on how each construct relates to everyday outcomes such as wellbeing, professional or academic performance, health, and quality of social relationships. The aim of this course is to show how knowledge about personality traits contributes to our understanding of central life outcomes and developments. Regular and active participation is required (students may be absent twice). Students will present a scientific article of their choice in a 20 min presentation and will be asked to hand in brief written reports discussing scientific articles four times over the course of the semester.
The presentation and the written reports will be graded and combined into the overall grade.
The course starts in the second week of the semester. |
