mHealth in the context of chronic disease |
Description |
Mobile technologies such as text messages, apps, GPS offer a wide range of opportunities to embed interventions directly everyday life and to change health in the natural environment and people's everyday lives. The subject of this seminar will be the target points and theory of technology-based interventions, as well as the current empirical evidence to improve disease management in the context of chronic disease (e.g. cancer, diabetes, HIV, overweight, depression). Moreover, challenges such as user engagement, undesirable effects, data protection and quality assurance and implications for future research are discussed.
In small groups, the students lead a session on a specific topic and develop their own mHealth study. In principle, active participation in the seminar and reading literature are required.
This blockseminar takes place on four days:

Day 3: Applied context chronic diseases I
