Title |
Sleep from the Perspective of Cognitive and Social Neuroscience |
Description |
This seminar provides an introduction to the topic of sleep from the perspective of neuroscience. Current research on the neurobiological basis of sleep, the underlying neural mechanisms, and their connection to social and cognitive functions will be discussed. Specifically, we will discuss questions such as: How does sleep or sleep deprivation affect our social behavior? How is sleep related to memory or other cognitive processes? Can sleep interventions compensate for social/cognitive dysfunction? How do environmental influences (e.g. light/social media) or personal influences (e.g. chronotype/mindfulness) affect our sleep? |
