Title Investigating stress and health behavior in daily life - Part 2
Description Imagine: After a very stressful day, despite your goal of being physically active and pursuing a balanced diet, you find yourself at home on the sofa with a slice of pizza.
Stress - a topic inseparable from our daily lives - can have far-reaching effects on our health behavior and, consequently, on our health. However, this topic is still insufficiently researched in everyday life. How do people change their eating behavior after experiencing a stressful event? What effects does stress throughout the day have on smartphone usage before going to bed and on subsequent sleep quality? And could relaxation techniques help mitigate these effects? Together, we want to delve into these and other interesting questions!
Together, we are conducting the first study on stress and health behavior in everyday life, where stress and relaxation are experimentally induced. Alongside fellow students, you can formulate and investigate your own research questions, and at the end of the seminar, we will attempt to communicate the insights gained to the public within the framework of science communication.
In the process, we will not only learn more about the topics of stress, health behavior, and health itself, but also about the research process itself. We will recruit participants, conduct an experimental study in everyday life, identify our own research questions based on gaps in existing research, prepare and analyze data, write an empirical paper, and engage in science communication.

The seminar spans 2 semesters and takes place every second week from 13:15h - to 17:15h.
Prerequisite: Attendance of the seminar "Exploring Stress and Health Behaviors in Everyday Life - Part 1".
