Title |
Beyond Quick Fixes: Long-term Health Behaviour Change |
Description |
Interventions aimed at changing health behaviours, such as programs promoting regular physical activity, balanced diet, or proper hygiene practices, often prove to be effective. However, intervention studies tend to focus mainly on short-term effects. Consequently, little is known about the mechanisms underlying the long-term maintenance of behaviour change. In this seminar, we will delve deep into the subject and explore the underlying phenomena of long-term behaviour change (e.g., lapses and relapse). We will critically reflect on existing definitions of these phenomena and underlying theories, and engage interactively in discussions about current research gaps. |
