Title Typical and atypical language development
Description The aim of the proseminar is to provide an overview of typical and atypical language development in (early) childhood and to further develop the students' own scientific skills. In terms of content, the innate abilities and the role of the environment in connection with language development are dealt with. Scientific text workshops are planned to promote scientific competences. Empirical articles evaluating interventions and forms of therapy will be discussed. In particular, the ability to critically analyse texts and scientific writing will be deepened. Requirements: I. Reading of all texts in preparation for the sessions. II. Holding a short presentation on a language development disorder. The presentations are not graded, but must reach the ‘pass’ level. III. writing three papers during the semester (max. one page) IV. Regular and active participation. V. Submission of a written assignment at the end of the semester. Further information on the written assignment will be announced during the seminar.
