Title Personality Interventions
Description Can we change our personality? Personality traits are typically defined as relatively stable patterns of experience and behavior that usually change slowly over a period of years in adulthood. Recent research has therefore raised the question of whether the process of change can be specifically «accelerated» through clinical and non-clinical psychological interventions and whether the results achieved are long-lasting and have an impact on other areas of life. The seminar refers to current conceptual contributions and empirical findings on targeted or intentional personality change and covers the following topics, among others: Reasons and goals for personality interventions; Desire for change and motivation to change; Interventions to purposefully promote personality change; Challenges and limitations of personality interventions. The format of the seminar is based on presentations by the participants and the lecturer, discussions in small groups and in the plenum as well as exercises and illustrations of the topics.

Requirements
• Critical reading of the compulsory literature in preparation for the sessions.
• For each session, two questions on the compulsory literature or the session topic are formulated in preparation (the questions serve as a basis for the discussion).
• Regular and active participation by helping to organize the sessions.
• Presentation with exercise and/or illustration of the topic (will be graded): In addition to imparting knowledge, the presentation should also offer suggestions and food for thought on the topic.
• Written paper (will be graded): Elaboration of a «practical project» (2 pages) based on the compulsory literature and/or in-depth literature (to be handed in by December 18).
• The final grade is made up of the average of the grades for the presentation and the written paper.
