Title Seminar integral (MA): Perspectives on Contemporary Dramaturgy (P; D/AA)
Description What is the relationship between dramaturgy and acting / directing / adapting? How does dramaturgy enhance the theatrical experience for everyone involved, specifically actors and directors? How does dramaturgy empower the individual’s creative contribution to the performance’s growth? This block seminar is not just about theory; it’s about practical application. Through a hands-on process, the course provides answers to the relationship between dramaturgy and adapting / directing / acting while developing and sharpening students’ directing and acting skills. The seminar delves into the Greek Tragedy Medea’s social and cultural order, exploring the play’s themes of exile, gender inequality, and racial disparity. Establishing new dramaturgical vocabulary, and offering alternative tools for the actor’s / director’s preparation, the course will enhance the ‹dramaturgical sensibilities› of the students. The course will culminate in the presentation of scene works from Medea.
