Description |
This course will provide an overview of the law and regulatory framework for artificial intelligence (AI). Particularly, it will cover the following topics:
(1) The rationales for regulation and oversight of AI technologies, including issues such as the balancing between market regulation and the protection of fundamental rights;
(2) The models of AI regulation, mainly with a focus on the AI Act in Europe, focusing on the key issues for regulators, supervisory authorities, and international standard setters responsible for shaping the AI regulatory landscape;
(3) Regulatory areas, including AI and online platforms, the intersection of AI with data protection laws.
